3D Imaging
Conventional dental x-rays are sufficient diagnostic tools for many implant and periodontal procedures. However, because these x-rays are two-dimensional, depicting height and width only, some aspects of the anatomy cannot be adequately viewed.
To enhance patient care, Dr. Anson also uses 3D Cone Beam imaging for diagnosis and treatment. The 3D scans provide an exceptionally detailed look at existing teeth, bone, nerves, and tissue with cross-sectional and three-dimensional views that allow the doctor to:
- Evaluate the quality and density of the bone that will support the dental implant
- Determine the proper treatment approach for each individual patient
- Determine the precise placement of implants, particularly in areas near critical anatomical structures, such as sinuses and nerves
- Select the correct type and size of the implants
The system our Periodontists use produces the highest resolution image at the lowest radiation dose on the market today and confines the scanning region to a narrow area of interest. This process of image generation allows our Doctors to zoom in on specific areas of the mouth necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Microsurgery
The ultimate aim of microsurgery is to provide surgical procedures without the trauma associated with traditional surgery. Without a state-of-the-art surgical microscope, many surgical procedures require large incisions for visibility. In addition, it is necessary to pull the gum tissue, muscle and nerves away from the surgical area for considerable periods of time.
With microsurgery, very small surgical openings are used, which reduces trauma to the tissues and minimizes pain, swelling, and bleeding. Therefore, Beverly Hills patients are much more comfortable during and after surgery.
Piezo Surgical Procedure
The Piezo Surgical Procedure relies on ultrasonic vibrations and precise instruments to target the specific areas required for atraumatic implant and periodontal surgery. Compared to traditional rotary dental tools, the Piezo Surgical device operates with a gentler vibration that minimizes bleeding and damage to surrounding tissue. The result is a procedure with less patient discomfort and shorter healing time.
